Haigh-Farr's years of experience and cutting edge technology have yielded many unique solutions to our customers' more unusual requirements. Some examples include:

Dual-Band, Tri-Band and Quad-Band antennas incorporating multiple communication functions into a single, common antenna package.

Expanding diameter antennas. When a missile manufacturer needed to mount a 360 degree coverage antenna to the rocket motor housing they came to Haigh-Farr. The solution: a spring loaded antenna that expands in diameter with the motor housing and contracts as the motor cools while remaining conformal to the vehicle body during the entire flight profile. This technique has been utilized successfully on several vehicles including retrofit applications where drilling holes into the vehicle was not permitted.

Recoverable re-entry vehicles or high-mach aircraft with ablative coated antennas that withstand the extremely high temperatures of hypervelocity flight or atmospheric re-entry.
Custom shapes and sizes are common for the Haigh-Farr engineering group. Conical and ogive shapes for missile nose shrouds, cylindrical for the main body and for tail fin locations, facet shapes for low RCS applications, flush or external mount, and the list goes on.
